FG30 is a material grade of gray cast iron with the microstructure of pearlite. It is defined in the standard UNE of Spain. This material has high strength and good abrasion resistance.
However, its chilling tendency and casting performance are poor. So, the demand quantity is not large compared with other material grades.
The Chemical Composition of UNE FG30 Gray Cast Iron:
There is no any standard mentioned the chemistry composition for gray cast iron castings, so we only suggest the following chemistry based on actual production.
C:2.9-3.1%, Si: 1.8-2.0%, Mn: 0.7-0.9%, S: 0.10% max, P: 0.10% max, Cu or Ni: 0.3-0.5%
