1. If there is a small area of dust or other substances on the surface of the gray cast iron casting, it should be cleaned immediately. You can use a thin cloth to gently wipe the surface to reduce damage to the surface integrity.
2. If rust and other oxides appear on the surface of gray cast iron casting, they need to be cleaned by machine. The main methods include drum cleaning, shot blasting cleaning, shot peening cleaning, etc. Through mechanized operations, friction cleaning of the oxides on the surface of gray cast iron can minimize subsequent corrosion.
3. There are also some requirements for the storage of gray cast iron castings. A damp and dark environment can easily breed various microorganisms that damage the quality of castings. Two things must be done during storage: ventilation and dryness. This will effectively prevent the possibility of oxidation of gray cast iron castings.
