SG50 Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron is a type of ductile iron material grade in standard SABS 936 for South Africa. It has high tensile strength and certain degree of elongation. It is a good choice for materials that require high strength.

SG50 Cast Iron Mechanical Properties:
Tensile strength is minimum 500 Mpa.
Elongation is minimum 7%.

SG50 Cast Iron Applications:
Ductile iron SG50 has high strength and good toughness, so it has good fatigue resistance and wear resistance, especially suitable for working under heavy loads, high speeds or alternating hot and cold environments.

This grade is mainly used in mechanical parts that need to withstand moderate loads, impacts or friction, it is widely used in the manufacture of auto parts, pipe fittings and various structural parts, as well as oil pump gears, cylinder separators, valve bodies, transmission shafts, machine tool guide rail gears, shells, bushings, pistons and other parts.
