SG42 Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron is a type of ductile iron material grade in standard SABS 936 for South Africa. It has good strength, and good elongation. It is a good choice for demanding high toughness.

SG42 Cast Iron Mechanical Properties:
Tensile strength is minimum 420 Mpa.
Elongation is minimum 12%.

SG42 Cast Iron Applications:
This material grade has good tensile strength and elongation, so it has high toughness, plasticity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can still maintain high impact toughness in low temperature. Therefore, this material has been widely used in many fields.

Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Industry: It is commonly used to manufacture complex parts that are subjected to high loads and require wear and corrosion resistance, such as crankshafts, gears, pistons, drive axle housings and clutch housings, etc., and are suitable for internal combustion engines and automobile parts.

Agricultural machinery: used in the production of hoe ploughs, plough columns, differential shells and other components, thanks to its good toughness and wear resistance, can adapt to the harsh working conditions of farmland operations.

General machinery and industrial equipment: As a material for key components such as valve bodies, high and low pressure cylinders, valves, etc., it is suitable for industrial piping systems and pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
